The Americas pack 35 countries into two very learnable families plus a Caribbean full of one-offs.
Family one: the Central American blue-white-blue. Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador all descend from the flag of the old Federal Republic of Central America, so they're the same flag with different centrepieces (and Guatemala turns the stripes vertical). Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador are the region's Slovakia-Slovenia problem: the middle is everything. Family two: the Gran Colombia yellow-blue-red shared by Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. Colombia's yellow takes half the flag, Ecuador adds a large crest, Venezuela adds an arc of stars.
The Caribbean is the opposite: nearly every island is distinctive, from Jamaica's gold saltire (the only national flag in the world with no red, white or blue) to Grenada's nutmeg, so those are quick wins. All 35 are in the grid; Mind the Map schedules the lookalikes back at you until they hold.
35, spanning North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador are the hardest trio: all blue-white-blue from the old Federal Republic of Central America, so the centrepiece is everything. Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela share the Gran Colombia yellow, blue and red in much the same way.
Two families do most of the work: the Central American blue-white-blue and the Gran Colombia yellow-blue-red. Learn those, treat the Caribbean flags as distinctive one-offs (Jamaica's gold saltire is the only national flag in the world with no red, white or blue), then drill with spaced repetition.
